1.1 The Chair welcomed Members to the meeting.
2.1 The Committee received evidence from Care Forum Wales.
3.1.a The Committee noted the letter from the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Wellbing and Sport and the Minister for Social Services and Public Health.
4.1 The Committee agreed the motion.
5.1 The Committee discussed all the evidence received in relation to the inquiry into winter preparedness, and agreed to write to the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Wellbeing and Sport, prior to the evidence session with him on 17 November, outlining the key emerging themes.
6.1 The Committee undertook further consideration of Petition P-04-682 and agreed to write to the Children and Young People’s Wales Diabetes Network to seek up to date information on action to improve outcomes for children and young people with Type 1 diabetes in Wales. The Committee agreed that the response from the Network could inform a letter to the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Well-being and Sport.
6.2 The Committee also noted a study currently underway in Germany into whether a screening programme for Type 1 diabetes is feasible across a large population, and agreed to undertake a short inquiry to review the outcomes of the study when it concludes in 2017.
7.1 The Committee undertook further consideration of Petition P-04-532 and noted that the Neurological Conditions Delivery Plan is due for renewal in 2017. The Committee agreed to write to the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Wellbeing and Sport to seek an update on the relevant deliverables and on specific actions the Welsh Government is taking.
8.1 The Committee discussed the letter from the Business Committee and noted the proposed timetable.
